With production for
New Moon beginning next month, there is no one more excited about the
Twilight sequel than 16 year old Taylor Lautner.
Lautner's character, Jacob Black, had a supporting role in
Twilight, but in
New Moon, Black steps in as a leading man. In order to prepare for his upcoming role as a masculine and powerful werewolf, Taylor Lautner hit the gym and built 26 pounds of muscle to fill the shoes of Jacob Black - and he's looking forward to showing off his new physique.
He told
Twist, "The quote I love the most is Jacob's quote, 'Does my being half-naked bother you?'"
He continued, "That quote cracks me up! Because you know, that's when he's shirtless, not wearing a top - we'll have to wait to see what he looks like."
Showing off his newly buff body isn't something that Lautner is used to. He confessed, "It'll be interesting and weird!"
Kristen Stewart and
Robert Pattinson reprise their respective roles as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in
New Moon, and Pattinson is humbled by the opportunity to act in the vampire saga. Pattinson said, "I'm just happy to be a part of this series."
New Moon is the second in the
Twilight series, based on novels written by Stephenie Mayer. The film is set for a November 20, 2009 US release date.
Twilight is still running in some theaters and will be released on DVD on March 21, 2009. The movie is available for
